Chrissy Etienne

Chrissy Etienne, Online Communications Specialist for Believe Out Loud, is a black gender-queer immigrant poet born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Chrissy has been working as an activist, educator, and community organizer in New York City for the last five years and is passionate about leading conversations at the intersections of faith, race, gender and class.

In her spare time, Chrissy can be found in her kitchen, recreating her grandmother's dishes. Chrissy believes in community care and practices a variety of healing modalities in order to witness and transform the intergenerational traumas carried by her communities.
