DEVELOPMENT INTERN
Do you have strong research, writing and analytical skills with a passion for fundraising? Then we want you to apply for an internship with us now!

This skills-building internship will give you an opportunity take on significant projects to advance Intersections’ mission while building your resume.  We’re seeking an enthusiastic Intern willing to gain valuable resource development (fundraising) experience.  This internship is full of great opportunities that require at least a three-month commitment with possibilities of extending the internship.  Check out below for what’s in it for you:

INTERNS WILL HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO:

  • Secure real-world knowledge of the field, including hands-on experience to help hone career goals
  • Work in a flexible, learning environment while developing proposal and business writing skills
  • Gain additional professional skills and valuable resource development experience
  • Learn prospect research and hone networking skills that will build your contacts and relationships with grant makers, donors and development professionals
  • Strengthen “work” skills, including time management, interoffice skills, etc.
  • Develop new, concrete skills for career portfolio or resume
  • Receive job references, including a letter of recommendation from Intersections International upon successful completion of the internship

SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University/college Junior, Senior, Graduate or recent Graduate
  • Previous experience in research and/or grant writing preferred
  • Understanding of nonprofit organizations or prior nonprofit experience is a plus
  • Excellent writing, verbal, phone, organizational skills
  • Team player, self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure while managing conflicting deadlines
  • Computer: Microsoft Word, Excel, along with willingness to learn donor management system

EXPERIENCE:

  • Accredited University/College Junior, Senior, Graduate or recent Graduate with previous experience in research and/or grant writing preferred
  • Understanding of nonprofit organizations or prior nonprofit experience is a plus
